Stockton Terra-Cotta Company, California. Art Pottery semi-porcelaneous, high-gloss "Rekston" ware vase, ca. 1897. With a tall, slender neck and ruffled rim. Depicting foliate motifs on brown ground. Marked along the underside.

The Stockton Terra-Cotta Company began producing art pottery in 1897, quickly launching its “Rekston” line. In 1902, however, the pottery factory was destroyed by fire and was never reopened or rebuilt. As a result, surviving examples of “Rekston” pottery are rare and do not appear often at auction.
