The Stockton Terra-Cotta Company began producing art pottery in 1897, quickly launching its “Rekston” line. In 1902, however, the pottery factory was destroyed by fire and was never reopened or rebuilt. As a result, surviving examples of “Rekston” pottery are rare and do not appear often at auction.
Height: 9 1/2 in x diameter: 6 in.
Condition: There are no major losses. Crazing throughout. There is a long, linear area running from the rim to footrim that fluoresces under UV light.
